The present article constitutes a description of the Portal de
Léxico Hispánico (Hispanic vocabulary Portal), an electronic tool whose main
aim is to offer information for the historical study of Ibero-Romance
vocabulary from the compilation of data which is currently scattered
over a great variety of publications. This database is structured in three
interrelated parts, gathering different kinds of information: linguistic
(Banco de léxico), bibliographic (Banco de bibliografía) and documental (Banco
de documentaciones). The last, the main aim of description in this publication,
currently has information about Spanish and Catalan of very different
origin. Regarding Spanish, documentation from DECH is the starting
point, whereas for Catalan the documentary data are taken from an unpublished
lexicographical work: Essai de dictionnaire historique de la langue
catalane, by Julià-Bernat Alart.
