Aportaciones de Fco. Xavier de Gamboa a la lexicografía y al léxico de la minería. ¿Un ejemplo de mestizaje léxico en el siglo XVIII?

Abstract

The publication in 1761 of Comentarios a las Ordenanzas de
Minas by Fco. Xavier de Gamboa was an important step for both American
and Hispanic mining. However, there is also another aspect that should be studied and relates this to the lexical and lexicographic interest
of the author.
Our focus will be the study of the lexicon collected in this work, in
order to highlight its importance to historical lexicography in Spain, especially
regarding the field of mining. His work includes indigenous and
technical terms in Spanish that came from the common language. There
are also terms that were created by derivation and composition in Nueva
España.
