In this paper, we analyse the lexicon of clothing in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, based on the study of original and unpublished notarial documentation, preserved in the Provincial Historical Archive of Murcia, which was written in the Vega Alta del Segura (Region of Murcia) between 1565 and 1620. The study of this documentary fund allows us to verify the entry of terms from other languages and dialectal varieties, to attest the creation of neologisms, to register the formation of lexicalized diminutives and to increase the number of testimonies of voices scarcely documented to date, of which, in addition, a definition of our own is provided.
