Neologismos documentados en el Reparo a errores de la navegación española, de Pedro Porter y Casanate (Zaragoza, 1634)

Abstract

This paper aims to show the neological dynamics in Spanish
Siglo de Oro through the study of the innovative technical vocabulary in Reparo a errores de la navegación española, by Pedro Porter y Casanate
(Zaragoza, 1634), and its lexicographical treatment in two dictionaries of
the Spanish language (Diccionario crítico etimológico castellano e hispánico and
DICTER. Diccionario de la ciencia y de la técnica del Renacimiento) and in Corpus
del Nuevo Diccionario Histórico. The entire vocabulary of the text by Porter
is analyzed from a historical point of view, possible neologisms are listed
and their characteristics described.
