Los conectores de la Primera y Cuarta Partida de Alfonso X El Sabio

Abstract

The manuscripts of Alfonso X’s works of Alfonso continue to be studied by researchers. Although numerous works have been carried out on very diverse topics (Faulhaber, 1985; Fradejas, 2017; Prádanos Fernández, 2023; Rodríguez Porto, 2023; Mora, en prensa, among others), there are still matters to explore, such as the one that concerns us in this article: discourse markers. These textual connectors have received great attention from language historians, especially in diachrony studies, and Alfonso X is established as one of the fundamental figures for the development of these forms. For this reason, in this work we are going to carry out a statistical analysis of the discourse markers we have located in the First and Fourth Part to explain, subsequently, the functions they have in the contexts which have been examined and the possible causes of these results.
