Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyse the language used in notarial protocols of the seventeenth century found in auctions, testaments, inventories of goods and letters of dowry and earnest money, written in Spain and Venezuela, and selected by the research team of the Corpus Lexicon of inventories (corlexin.unileon.es). In addition to analyzing the structure of these documents, attention is paid to legal formulas and duplicate structures in order to observe the evolution and fixation of legal language.
