Particularidades del léxico de la moda renacentista: dificultades en su análisis.

Abstract

In this paper we attempt to make a review of the most significant
problems relating the textile vocabulary of the Spanish Renaissance. We verify
the possibility of only one notion symbolized by more than one word,
and the opposite situation, which is that certain words couldmeanmore than
one thing.Well now, for its importance, we have decided to focus on the words
which refer to those clothes which suffered deep changes in the second half
of the 16th century. To achieve this aim, we have analysed the lexicographic
studio of every chosen word, in addition to the specific changes happened in
these pieces of garment. Finally, we make a proposal of definition for all of
these words.
