In this text we intend to provide a new vision about the use in
the hispanic toponymy of the derivatives of the latin word mucro, -ōnis.
We intend to demonstrate that the Mocrón name and its variants do not
have to be explained as arabisms, but, from documentation and a phonetic
and semantic perspective, is perfectly permissible to explain its etymology
from Latin.
