Sobre -gate. Origen, significado y comportamiento morfológico

Abstract

In this work we try to analyse the origin of -gate, coming from
English, the new meaning that it gets by forming new words in Spanish
and their morphologic behaviour. For this, we start from a corpus of
examples taken from mass media, elaborated ad hoc, which illustrates
the mass media language from the last thirty years and that might help
understand better the dimension of this Phenomenon of lexical creation
in Spanish.
