Abstract

This article offers a small sample of Galician lexical items
extracted from 18th century notarial documents from the Carballo
district. Specifically, the study of a significant number of postmortem
inventories of farmers allows for the examination of the
incorporation into these texts of words resulting from Galician-
Spanish language contact, and words which reflect the local Spanish
of Galicia or western Spanish.
